Cant create a "New Document From Scanner" on a netwk printer

Theres 2 computers on a wireless network. Both running PDF Xchange Pro.. The printer is connected (via USB) to one computer.
Scanning from the computer that has the printer hooked up to it , creating a "New Document From Scanner" , is easy and works everytime.
=====Problem occurs when i try to create a "new Document From Scanner" on the other computer.=====
I can print from on the network from any other program no problem. The only time I've had this problem is with this program..

Would love and appreciate any help I can get with this....

Thank you for your post.
When you click on "New Document From Scanner", the Viewer will look for any scanners installed in your PC and visible at "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers". Then will show the scanner's manufacturer driver program so that the user can select the scanner options. Therefore:

• Can you see the printer installed as a scanner at "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers" in your PC?

• When you click on "New Document From Scanner", do you see the scanner on the "New Document from Scan Direct" window?

its the default printer, printing is done for most of the secretaries daily work.

this is the problem, i cant see the printer in the listed devices, its empty. i tried researching this, reinstalled the printer drivers, made sure everything is compatible.., get awesome ping from the router..

Does the fact that the program is accessing the printer on the network, and its not a locally installed printer?

If you cannot see it from "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers", it means the printer-scanner is not visible and the Viewer will not find it.
Please make sure the drivers you installed for the printer include the scanner functionality of the printer. Sometimes you can disable this functionality when installing them. In the case of a network scanner, you can add it from "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers" by clicking on "Add a device" button.

And this is the problem.
the printer is installed correctly for a networked printer. its the default printer and prints from every program, aka excel, quickbooks, etc.., but this program wont reckognize it

I suspect the issue is related to the fact that PDF-XChange is installed as a 64 bit application (if you are running 64 bit windows) but your scanner application is it would appear using a 32 bit device driver and therefore is not seen - as a 32 bit device cannot scan to a 64 bit application and the other applications you mention are no doubt also running as 32 bit app's still and therefore dont have the same issue.

Please download the portable version of PDF-XChange Viewer - which is by default a 32 bit application for general compatibility purposes - and extract the zip file to a location on your hard drive - and then locate this folder in Windows explorer (dont use the desktop shortcut as this is pointing to the 64 bit app installed by default) and start the 'exe' in the folder -

Please advise if this resolves your problem, if it does - you can either run this app by default - or visit/contact your device manufacturer to see if a 64 bit driver is available.

they are both 32 bit windows 7 ultimate machines.
ill try the portable software, but this just adds more confusion into the mix dont you think?

Well, if you are 100% sure the machine is 32 bit - then there is no point doing so - as the installer will detect this and you will already have the 32 bit version installed by default.

So this will not help - it also therefore does not add confusion - though the problem will still exist and frankly I am at a loss to explian why, we will discuss further here and come back if we can think of any other reasons why you are having problems ...

It may also be helpful to get the support staff at the manufacturer to comment - perhaps they have some input which may assist ...

Also - can you advise if you can print from other applciations to this device - AND - also scan to other applications from this device, on other (unconnected machines) on the network ..

Or can you print only - but not scan on these machines ?
