Hi, I currently have PDF Pro 2.5 and thinking of upgrading to PDF Pro 2012.
I have a lot of custom tool bars, watermarks and stamps, will they transfer automatically to the Pro 2012 on upgrade?
Also, have the measuring tools changed at all (e.g. does the area tool now also shows the perimeter as well?)
Thanks
Colin

Re: PDF Pro 2012
Hi Colin,
I see that you currently have a PDF XChange Pro v4 license that allows you to use our latest Viewer, the PDF Tools and the PDF XChange 4 printing drivers.
So for now the Viewer functionality you have will remain the same, including thearea tool, but upgrading your license to the latest version (with 70% discount) will allow you to use our latest printing drivers and very soon v3 of our Viewer. This new Viewer is still in development but a beta of it will be released withing the next couple of weeks.
Best,
Stefan

Re: PDF Pro 2012
Thanks Stefan,
So to be clear, upgrading to 2012 won't change the viewer so all of the customisations I have made (custom toolbars, custom styles, watermarks in pdf tools and viewer) will still be there after the upgrade.
What are the benefits of the new print driver over the old one?
Cheers
Colin

Re: PDF Pro 2012
Hi Colin,
Yes All the customizations you've done to the Viewer will stay the same, and the same applies to the Tools for now.
The new printing driver uses completely new algorithms for generating the files, and is also using a different means for communication with Windows - so very soon (after fixing a few outstanding bugs) - you would be able to create CMYK files when printing to our drivers (the application from which you are printing should also know how to print in CMYK.
Also an upgrade now will allow you to upgrade the Viewer to V3 later this year without an additional payment, while if you wait now the discount we are offering you could be lowered once the new Viewer is released.
Best,
Stefan
