Long delay after right-click PDF file on network drive

Hello everybody!
I have a strange problem. When I right click a PDF file on a network PC, I have to wait very long (sometimes over one minute) before a pop-up window (context menu) appear. The delay depends on the size of a file: the larger the file the longer the delay. But even relatively small PDF files (e.g. 5 MB) cause a delay of several seconds. I am running Windows 7 32-bit and 62-bit (two PCs). And the problem appears on both. When I uninstalled PDF-XChange Viewer to see if it was the reason of this delay, the problem has gone. A context menu of any PDF file appeared instantly. There is no problem with other file types - pop-up window of other files over 1GB shows immediately.

So the question is: what setting should I change in PDF-XChange Viewer so after right-click a PDF file in network the pop-up window (context menu) shows without any delay? Thanks for any ideas!

if you unregister the "Shell Extensions" that get installed by default along with the Viewer this should again become instant. The problem is likely with network latency between your file and the PC you are on causing a delay as it works the thumbnails, especially for larger files.

Try this to unregister the Shell Extensions. It should be done in a command prompt with Administrative rights:

Thank you! It worked! On my laptop with Windows 7 64-bit the context menu shows immediately. And on my PC with Windows 7 32-bit there is still a short delay (1-2 seconds). But it's nothing compared to the situation before. Thanks again!
