document is not displayed properly

Post by pmneves@gmail.com »

Hi All,

I can not display this document (see attachment) properly.
It seems that XChangeV is not displaying the image of this doc.

With Adobe and I can see everything (text and image).
I am using the latest version of XChangeV (2.5.206).
Maybe it's some miss-configuration of the XChangeV.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Pedro

Thanks for reporting this file Pedro,

We will investigate what's causing this incorrect display in our Viewer and post back here when we have further news.

Best,
Stefan

I am having the identical problem in that images do not display correctly. Let me note that both PDF-XChange Viewer and google docs online do not display the images properly. In XChange the center of the images are cropped out, displaying partially some of the top and less of the bottom. Online (Firefox) google drive shows only black rectangles. Acrobat X Reader v.10.1.1 has no problems.

I wish I could supply, but it is proprietary, and not my own. Apologies. Perhaps there is something in the document properties that I can extract and manually tell you about.

Thanks for that onix,

I think we would really need the file. If you can locate one that shows this issue but is not proprietary we will take a look.

We have managed to find what was wring when rendering the file Pedro sent and that fix will be available in the next build of the Viewer (207). It will be some time yet before it is released but when it is I suggest you test it out and let us know if it also resolves your issue.

Of course a sample would be much better... ;-)

Hi Nick,

We still have not received anything from nicholas.cardwell@... so are you using an alternative e-mail?
Also please make sure that the file is not larger than e.g. 20MB as it might not be delivered properly by most mail servers. I believe we accept files up to about 30MB but not all mail servers are willing to send files that big in the first place. If the file is larger - maybe you can upload it somewhere and then send an e-mail with just a link to the file for us to check?

Best,
Stefan

emailed to pdfxview@tracker-software.com @ 8.30am.

Is there another email address?

Also to add, have just updated to the 206 version (your rss feed still displays the 205 as the latest version)

still same problem.

Thanks Nick,

Got the file! I was looking in the incorrect mail account!

We've confirmed the incorrect display and created a ticket in our system:
#1659: Incorrect text display
To allow us to check and fix this.

Hi Pedro,

Your file turned out to contain an XFA form that we were handling incorrectly. This is now fixed and the fix will be in the next build of our Viewer though I do not have any ETA for it yet.

Stefan

Hello Pedro,

Indeed the Viewer (including build 211) is still displaying that file incorrectly, but the PDF-X Editor has no problems with it and displays it properly:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-xchange-editor
So please do download the Editor and give it a try. It is due to replace the Viewer as our main PDF displaying product very soon.

Regards,
Stefan
