Problem: PDF-FileXChange Viewer does not print graphics properly when using Black Ice Software's "ColorPlus Capture Driver for 32-bit" (v.13.25.302 for Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 based systems)
We love PDF-FileXChange Viewer's editing abilities, but the printing isn't working for us now.
Example documents are uploaded. In one case, it is a logo that doesn't get printed properly. In the other case, it just butchers a color-scanned PDF.
We use this driver in conjunction with our Document Mangagement system, PaperWise. We have to use the driver when we use PDF-FileXChange Viewer in order to get it into the system. With Adobe Reader, we can just move it "unprinted" with a button via a plug-in. But, even if we don't use the plug-in, and print the PDF to the ColorPlus driver, it prints beautifully. So, the problem is with PDF-FileXChange Viewer, and we can't really ask PaperWise to fix it.
We are on version 2.5 build 206.
We don't have accessibility options enabled.
The problem doesn't exist if we print to image, but that kills us in our storage resources.
A tiresome workaround is to edit the PDF in PDF-FileXChange Viewer, save it, and then open up adobe reader and then send it via plug-in.

Re: Ugly printout when using PDFXCV, but not Adobe Reader
Hi Poilu,
thanks for the detailed post.
I looked at both samples and it seems in both cases you are creating the PDF using Black Ice and PaperWise. From your description it would seem that you have a PDF already, you then print to PDF from either Adobe or our Viewer to PaperWise.
Can you explain why, if you already have a PDF, do you need to run it through a PDF printer again? Can you not modify the PDF and save it without having to 'Print to PDF' again?
Regardless of that, it seems that you have a PDF that when printed from our Viewer prints differently to how Adobe prints it. Does this also happen when printing these PDFs to other printers or is it only when printing from PDF-XChange Viewer to your PaperWise printer?
Ideally we'd like to see the PDF that doesn't print properly. With that we should be able to try printing it from our Viewer and also Adobe and see different results. You attached only the results after the print, so the source PDf is going to be helpful here.
Does that make sense?

Yes, exactly.

We get the original PDFs from our business partners and customers. Often we want to edit them, or make comments on them Your product does this well and of course Adobe Reader doesn't. The reason we want to "Print to PDF" is that it is the only way to get them into the document management system using PDFXCV directly.

No, other printers are fine. Just when we use this driver.

I will give source documents - and the driver, for that matter, to you. But it needs to be secured.

Re: Ugly printout when using PDFXCV, but not Adobe Reader
Thanks for the details Poilu
we will keep the documents secure. Just email them to support@pdf-xchange.com and be sure to reference this thread so we know what they are when they arrive.
Given that this only happens when printing to this particular driver it may be a challenge to replicate this as we'll need to print to that driver.
As a matter of interest, is that driver hooked directly into your system such that you can't use an alternative driver, like ours for example?
I would seriously look into the support for your system and see if they can find you a way to get the modified PDFs back into the system without reprinting them, it would be faster and you'd see better results in your final PDFs.
Once we get your file we'll see if it is possible to reproduce the issue.
