Issue with pdf /a compliant documents. (background is black)

Post by greisch ingenierie »

Hi,

We encounter this issue :

When printing a pdf /a compliant with pdfxcview pro , it appears that several fields of the document are filled with black instead of blank.
It is being printed on a "Canon color 9060 , post script driver" ( no other driver available ).

If printed ( same doc , same printer ) using Adobe reader, the problem does not occur.

If the document is sligthly modified and thus loosing it's /a compliance on saving the newly generated pdf print just fine
( the issue then is that the doc' jumped from a size of approximatly 1 mega to approximatly 470 mega .)
( + the fact that our users " don't like " doing such conversions and that a 470 megas document takes quite a while to be transcripted and printed...)

we use Win7 64b SP1 as O/S.

Can we do something about it?

Thanks allready for your time.

Hello greisch ingenierie,

Please try to print the original PDF-A compliant file while the "Print as Images" option in our Viewer is selected.
This should result in a printout identical to what you see on screen. We are working on a completely rewritten printing engine for our Viewer, but until it's released I hope the "print as images" is an acceptable workaround for you.

Best,
Stefan
