Hi!
I really appreciate the Tab function, i.e. open different documents in one session and switch from tab to tab (=document to document) easily (and very quickly!).
When I close the program and reopen it, the previous session will be displayed with all the tabs/documents, which is a great
feature. That means, all links to the opened documents must have been saved by Xchange Viewer in order to reopen them next time.
Now my request which adds to this:
Could it be possible to SAVE different sessions of tabs?
For example, I am working with specific documents one day and want to save these tabs for another day, then open a new session with different tabs, save them as well and so on.
With this I could save different "Projects" with certain tabs and use them whenever I want.
Thanks and regards from Germany,
Ron

Re: Save a combination of tabs
Hello Ron,
And welcome to our forums!
Thanks for the kind words - we do appreciate that! The feature you are looking for has been requested a few times in the past, but unfortunately this is not yet possible in our Viewer. It might be added in the PDF-X Editor in a future build:
www.tracker-software.com/pdfxve3
Though I can not comment on when this could happen.
For the moment I could recommend you to e.g. keep all the files for one "project" in the same folder, and the files for the next in another folder ect. and then you can quickly open the folder and drag and drop all the files from it to the Viewer which will open them all.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Save a combination of tabs
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the very quick reply, great support!
Looking forward to this function in the new product, and may I add some other ideas?
- When dragging a tab to the other side (when more tabs are opened than can be displayed at once)
the scrolling tempo is rather slow. I.E. when I want to move a tab to the far end, this takes quite some
time, there is no acceleration in scrolling speed as I have seen in other programs.
- When using the "Show all tabs thumbnails" overview (very helpful!), a great feature would be if I could arrange
the tabs in a different order just by clicking on the thumbnails and dragging them into the right order.
Just like in a normal windows folder.
- Would be great to be able to define the scrolling wheel on the mouse to move from tab to tab and backwards quickly.
So far I can only see the mouse wheel working with pressing "CTRL" in order to resize a document.
Best regards and thanks,
Ron

Re: Save a combination of tabs
Hi Ron,
Thanks for the comments, we will have the first two in mind.
As for the mouse wheel - we are taking the settings directly from windows - and it's scroll button can be set to scroll, zoom etc - but not scroll through Tabs.
You can use the Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab combos to go to the next/previous one.
Best,
Stefan
