Tracker Team,
I use Xchange as sort of a whiteboard program for writing over lecture notes. It's been working great so far, but I'd like the ability to make my pencil annotations look "prettier".
One thing I'd like to request for future versions of PDF Xchange is the ability to make pressure-sensitive annotations with the pencil tool, using a writing tablet such as the Wacom Bamboo. I know some free programs out their already support this (open-sankore, PDFill, etc...), and it seems like something that could be easily included.
Thanks.
Scott

Re: Pencil Tool Pressure Sensitive - Feature Request
Hello Scott,
And welcome to our forums.
Thanks for your feature request - I will add it to our FR list - and then it would be up to the devs to decide on whether/when to implement it.
Update: The FR has been accepted and is added to a ticket we have for the Pencil Tool (#336), so when time allows we will implement it.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Pencil Tool Pressure Sensitive - Feature Request
Dear Team,
first of all, I would like to say that I have been using the PDF-XChange products for some time and I have never had a more user-friendly, more stable and more customizable PDF reader and PDF creator. Your products are really good with prices that are fair and affordable.
However, I would like to second skaaats proposal for including the possibility of pressure-sensitive annotations using the pencil tool. As a PhD-student and lawyer, I read a lot of papers electronically on my tablet. Highlighting text with the PDF-XChange Viewer Pro works perfectly, as well as the search function etc. The only weakness which I have experienced so far is the pencil tool, which does not support pressure-sensitiviy. I have to admit that it is cumbersome to close a document opened in PDF-XChange Viewer Pro and reopen it in another PDF application that supports pressure-sensitive annotations (I currently use PDF Annotator and Bluebeam Revu – which I do not want to use as standard PDF viewer as they both lack PDF-XChange Viewer's functionalities and user-friendliness – for making handwritten annotations), and then to reopen it in PDF-XChange Viewer again.
Thus, the possibility of pressure-sensitive annotations would make PDF-XChange Viewer even better (and this additional feature might also persuade my collegues and fellow students to use the PDF-XChange products)!
Thank you for your great work, I am looking forward to the implementation.
Roman

Hello Roman,
Welcome to our forums and many thanks for the kind words!
Your voice is heard and I assure you that we have this on the radar and will see to recognize pressure sensitivity for input devices that provide such information as soon as possible!
Best,
Stefan

Re: Pencil Tool Pressure Sensitive - Feature Request
Glad to hear this will be introduced in a future release... any chance we'll see this before August? I'm beginning production of some screencasts for the next academic year, and I'd love to improve the look of my annotations.
Great product btw, I've been recommending it to all my colleagues.

Re: Pencil Tool Pressure Sensitive - Feature Request
Hi skaaat,
Thanks for kind words, they're much appreciated
I honestly couldn't say when the feature will/may be implemented, but unfortunately, I doubt that it will be a high priority given that we're currently in the process of developing the Editor (Version 3 of the Viewer). We're having to prioritize with many features and are having to weigh many different pros/cons of their implementation, along with the practicality of implementing them now, as opposed to just getting the Editor ready for sale - I hope you understand!
(Also do note that it could be in the works now, but I'm afraid that the Devs. haven't released any information to us or the public about the status of current requests).
Cheers,
Will
