A few questions about the new version of Editor

Post by Filip013 »

I've downloaded the new version of Editor and I see that many previously missing features have been enabled, so the program on the whole works very well. Congratulations to the Tracker team!
However I have some issues. Now, I have skimmed the forum and I don't think these were mentioned but I might have missed them.
First of all, I've noticed that New Window option doesn't seem to work. Dragging a group of tabs does seem to work, but there doesn't seem to be a way to view two instances of the same document as in Viewer.
Another minor issue is the inability to remove documents from the Recent Documents list. This is annoying since I have around 20 documents that I occasionally consult but I open numerous documents only once. They seem to stay there even after I've deleted them. In the previous versions I accumulated so many of them and that just got on my nerves.
Anyway, I hope you'll be able to fix these issues soon.
Thanks in advance, Filip.

Hello Filip,

And thanks for the kind comments!

With the document that you want to view twice oepened go to Window -> Split - and select the horizontal or vertical option - this will allow you to see two sections of the same file, and scroll them independently - all in the same instance. Modification you make in one view will also be reflected in the other as well :)

You have two recent lists - the pinned and unpinned ones. So pin the documents you need often, and let the other documents be purged away at the bottom of the unpinned list. TO access both lists - just go to File -> Open and hover your mouse over Open for a second.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hello, Stefan.
I've noticed the different Recent documents lists, but I didn't know about Spit. These are useful features, although I guess it'll take some time to get used to them. Thanks for the reply.

Whether they're pinned or not, recent documents that are missing are not purged from either list on attempting to reopen them — as they should be.

Hi Guys,

I've created a feature request ticket for the ability to manage the recent list. For reference, the ticket number for this is RT-1844 - please be aware that I can't guarantee when it will be implemented, but I have made this ticket at the request of the Developers, so it is being worked on.

Cheers, hope that helps!
