Do not follow links

Post by ManfredMann »

Hello there! At first thank you for this splendid tool.

Question:
Is it possible to deactivate all Links or following of links in a document? I can't seen to find the corresponding option.

Reason:
I am working with a 100 pages document (circuit layout) and want to quickly mark every item I have checked/changed with a colorfilled oval.
My problem is: the items are heavily linked - so very often, I can't position my oval on an Item. I rather follow the link instead, wich annoys me a little.

Thank you for your help!
BR, Manfred

Hello Manfred,

You can go to Edit -> Preferences -> Page display and in the lower right corner you will see a checkbox with the text:
"Create lings from URLs". If you uncheck that our Viewer will no longer create links for such URLs, but if there are explicit link objects in the document - the Viewer will still honour them. A link object could be pointing to another section of the same document, to another document or to an URL, so we can't disable link objects handling in general. If you click the link tool in the Viewer faint blue rectangles should appear for any link object.

Best,
Stefan

Hi Stefan. Unfortunately, the links are document-internal. So I think I will just deal with it or make my boss buy me a proper tool.
Thanks a lot for your valid and fast help!
