Two Problems With XChange Editor Paid Version

Post by harry gerla »

I've encountered two problems with the new XChange editor. One, I've overcome. When I downloaded the 64bit msi installer my Norton Internet Security tagged it as malware. I downloaded the zip version and was able to install the program. I wonder if anyone else encountered the problem?

The second problem involves one of my employer's forms which I've attached. When I used the next to last version of Xchange Viewer free the program would not automatically sum up the amounts. When I briefly used the last paid version of Xchange Viewer Pro, the problem seemed fixed. Now that I'm using the latest version of Xchange Editor paid, the problem seems to have returned.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the post - I've taken a look at the file and can confirm that this doesn't function properly in the Editor. It does, however, continue to function properly, for me, in the Viewer, so that would be my suggested workaround for now. If it doesn't work for you in the Viewer, then please make sure that you have the latest build by downloading and running the lastest installer:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFVwer.zip

Also, please do be aware that the Editor is not entirely finished yet, so certain issues are bound to arise. We really appreciate your patience while this is being worked on - I've created an internal development ticket for this issue which is, for future reference, RT-1836 - please either reference this thread or the ticket number when requesting status updates.

This is something that has been reported to us before but, unfortunately, there isn't anything that we can do to stop this happening - it's an 'issue' with Norton, so there's nothing we can do there other than to assure you that no malware/spyware or anything else harmful/malignant is contained within our installers.

Cheers Harry, hope that helps!

I have the same problem as the user harry Gerla but with my Antivirus Kaspershy. Also in the 64-bit version Kaspershy sees it as a virus, I can not deal with this problem.

Hello wrotrelode,

And welcome to our forums.
Please tell Kaspersky to trust our application and installers and everything should be OK.

Best,
Stefan

This kind of "false positive" detection is nothing new unfortunately:

We will do our best to report these false positives to the antivirus companies.
