Different icons for text-highlighting

Post by Droni »

Hello,

very useful program is that pdf XChange viewer. I want to highlight a text in different colors, but the icon for text highlighting can be used only with one color parallel. Even i make two icons, clone the icon by setting, for text highlighting f.e. red and green, than by switching from red to green two icons change the color.

It would be better, when it can be possibe to use two or more text-marking functions parallel.

Or it is possible? (Look attachment/ screenshot)

Thank in advance

Hi Droni,

Thanks for the post - having multiple text annotations can be done by setting up multiple styles palettes. Please see the link below for instructions on how to do that:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... cific-Tool

If you're looking to put two versions of the same annotation tool on the toolbar, I'm afraid that it isn't possible. I can, however, definitely place a feature request for this.

Cheers, hope that helps,
Will

Hi,

I am interested in different icons for text-highlighting (two versions of the same annotation tool on the toolbar) too. Because it is very much faster and easier to handle, if I could make keyboard shortcuts/hot keys for each highlighting color. Is this possible now?

Thank´s.

Hi Uwe,

Thanks for the post - this has actually been made possible in the Editor. To do this, make sure that the different styles of the highlighter have been created (Comments --> Comments Styles Palette), then go to View --> Toolbars --> Customize Toolbars --> Commands and search for each style of the highlighter in the menu, then drag them to the toolbar.

The Editor can be downloaded here:

Hi Will,

thank you very much for your quick response. It works!

Will there be an Android-Version of the pdf-XChange Editor soon?

Hello Uwe,

Glad to hear it worked!

As for the android version - not in the immediate future I am afraid.

Hello,

since update (my self-programed) shortcut "Cntrl+G" does not work any more.
I made shortcuts for highlightning colors, for example "Cntrl+R" for red-highlighting, "Cntrl+Y" for yellow-highlighting,
Just the way you told me:

All other colors/shortcuts are still working, but not "Cntrl+G" anymore. How can I get it back?
Thank you.

Hi Uwe,

Ctrl-G was assigned as a shortcut for the newly added Exclusive mode. That's why it has stopped working as your custom shortcut.
Just find the Exclusive mode and change it's shortcut (there are two so you can just remove Ctrl-G), and it should once again start working for your custom colour.
