Hi!
I've installed Xchange Viewer 2.10 64bit msi and want to use the update via patch to 211. The downloaded file is of .doc-format. How do I the patching? Is there any description how to use the patch?
How install a patch-build?

Re: How install a patch-build?
Hello Dan-ce,
Seems like this is an error in our cloud service provider that handles our downloads. Simply rename the file to .msi and all should be fine. We've uploaded the files correctly as .msi packages and it's the cloud service that was renaming them.
Best,
Stefan

@Tracker Supp-Stefan
Thanx for your answer. I did so, but then occured an error-message:
(german)
"This install-package could not be opened. Let the producer of the application proove whether it is a valid windows install-package."
edit: I tried downloading with another browser - firefox instead of opera - and in firefox the file has .msp (not msi). This file I could open without the error-message, but in the dialogue, that asks me wether I want to change, repaire or remove the program, I chosed "change", and later I was asked for the path to the .msi - file!
So, in firefox, there was no .msi, but a .msp that doesn't work...

It means:Dieses Installationspaket konnte nicht geöffnet werden. Lassen Sie den Hersteller der Anwendung überprüfen, ob es sich um ein gültiges Windows Installer-Paket handelt.

Re: How install a patch-build?
Hi Dan-ce,
Those .msp files are "patch files" which are intended mostly for sys admins that want to patch the existing installation for a lot of machines simultaneously.
If you only need to update your instance of our products on one machine - then using the latest .msi or .zip file is recommended.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: How install a patch-build?
thanks for your answer! is there a difference between updating 1 or many instances? shouldn't it work for single use as well?
I tried to avoid the big file download because of slow internet connection...
But I will do now.

Re: How install a patch-build?
Hi Dan-ce,
No there's no difference, but you will also need to keep the original installation file for the older build - something that sysadmins would normally do and something that most people (myself included) don't do on their personal computers.

Stefan
