Hello, we are testing PDF-XChange. Very interesting and nice application.
But, we have Open Text eDocs DM. Our question - do you know how to combine these two ? It's impossible today to open PDF-documents from eDocs DM today. We have to use Acrobat.
We have also tested to open a PDF-document on our intranet. MSIE OK, Firefox NO, but gives a choice to open Acrobat, Chrome not at all. Any comment to that?
I have also Acrobat Pro Extended, we use it to create filled-in forms. Can we use PDF-XChange Editor for that purpose?
Thanks !

Re: PDF-Xchange and Open Text eDocs DM
Hello SMHI-admin,
Welcome to our forums.
Please in our Viewer go to Edit -> Preferences -> File associations, and click the "Display pdf in browser" checkbox, then hit apply - and this should allow you to view PDF files in more browsers.
For the merging of two different file formats - you will need to convert your e-docs to PDFs first and you can then combine these new PDFs with existing ones using the Document -> Insert pages option in the Viewer.
For now we do not offer a forms creation tool, but most forms created with other products should open fine in the Viewer and you should be able to fill them in.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: PDF-Xchange and Open Text eDocs DM
Hello SMHI-admin,
Thanks - now I believe I understand the situation a bit more clearly.
So this eDocs tool you have is online based and serves documents to your machines?
It will depend on how exactly the files are sent to the browser and whether those are not e.g. embedded inside a frame, though they should still show up properly in all browsers.
Could you please send us a screenshot from IE and the FireFox prompt and also some screenshots or a more detailed explanation of what eDoc does?
Regards,
Stefan

We have eDocs DM in our clients. We don't use the web solution. We open the document with Acrobat, not in the browser. Only filled-in forms are open in a browser, and they are ok. eDocs - read this: http://www.opentext.com/2/global/global ... oducts.htm
Could you please send us a screenshot from IE and the FireFox prompt and also some screenshots or a more detailed explanation of what eDoc does? I'll do that later, now another meeting....
