Bug: Text lines are partially not markable/selectable

The evaluate the bug do the following:

1.) Open the following URL (others are similar) in browser (Firefox):

or go directly to the print version (skip 2nd step in this case):

2.) Print the article into pdf doc file by clicking on the printer icon

3.) Click the link "Drucken" (=print) in the top right corner of the article and print the
article e.g. with well known PdfCreator or other printer drivers

4.) Open resulting pdf in XChange Viewer (pro) and select "Select tool".

Mark some lines on the first page ---> works
Mark some lines on the second page ---->works
Mark some lines on the third page ---> works NOT

Why?

Does that have something to do with the box-shadow attribute in CSS of the web server?

I think this is a bug in Xchange Viewer could you fix that?

Hi Matt,

I was able to select text on all pages after converting the page using our PDF-XChange Standard Print driver. See attached. Does this differ from what you see? You can post your PDF version for us to look at if you like.

I suspect the issue is in the PDF creation unless I'm missing something.

I could not select the (tiny) text on the 4th page of your attachment.

My printout looks a little different (see my attachment)

Have a look at it:

Here text on the third page is NOT selectable/highlightable.

Hi mattad,

page 3 on your PDF is an image. I can't tell you exactly why the PDF you created used an image on the last page, it's been created by another PDF Printer. It may be the way it is creating it or it may be the way Firefox is rendering the page. With the PDF I sent, the last section in my PDF is an image because that is how the web server is sending the data.

You can OCR the document with the option "Preserve Original Content & Add Text Layer." or OCR just the 3rd page.
