Highlight *And* Underline Same Word/Text

Post by qlaus_2 »

I'm trying to both highlight and underline the same text, but it doesn't seem to work. Say you highlight the word "test" in a document and also want to underline that same word? If I highlight it first, then select the Underline option from the toolbar and click or select the text, it just selects the existing highlight vs. adding new underlining to the highlighting. If I include the word before or after "test" in the underlining then it works, but I can't seem to get it to work if I underline the exact same word/words or if I want to underline one or more words in the middle of a highlight block.

Is there a trick I'm missing?

Thanks!

Hi kc,

hold the shift key while applying your second highlight/underline. This will prevent it from selecting the existing one and allow you to add the new highlight/underline to the text.

Hi Paul,

Thank you VERY much... that is extremely helpful!

One thought -- it might be a good tip to include in the documentation (at least I couldn't find it when I searched on "shift").

But thanks for the great software and the great help!!
