Post by yannpaulo »

I am having a problem with highlight. For example:
When I try to highlight three lines from a pdf text, initializing on the last word of the first line till the first word of the third line the final highliht overshoots it and hightlight all the 3 lines.

Thanx for the excelent software.

HI yannpaulo,

thanks for the post. What build of the Viewer are you using? Help --> About PDF-XChange Viewer...

We did make some improvements here recently. Can you upgrade to the current build and test if not already? Help --> Check for Updates...

hth

Hi Paul,
I upgraded to the PDF-XChange Viewer 2.5 build 213.1 of Nov 2013 and the problem persists.
I tried on other computers and it is the same.
Also, i found this usually happens on pdfs that don't have columns on text body! Like the one anexed.

Thank you for the atention.

Myself, I can only confirm the highlight-behaviour on this PDF when done by PDF-XChange Viewer.
If you are starting the selection at the beginning of a line, everything seems to work correctly, but if you begin the selection further in the text and then you want to select only the first characters or words of one of the following lines, the selection in the first line is also displaced.

It seems like every word in the text in this particular PDF has its own textbox object (when opened within PDF-XChange Editor). I also see that the PDF is a "Tagged pdf", that "Web View" is actif, and that it has been made with Adobe Distiller 9.0

Adobe Reader XI and PDF-XChange Editor do not have a problem when highlighting the text, while PDF-XChange Viewer does.

Now it depends on Tracker Software whether updates for their Viewer will still continue ?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the post - and thanks for trying the Editor on this Willy, that was going to be my suggestion

If this is working in the Editor, then it's highly unlikely that this will be fixed in the Viewer, as it's not a critical issue.

yannpaulo - please try downloading and using the Editor (link below) and see if that helps:
