Saving of certain documents is very slow

Hello,

I am having issues with certain documents when saving. The attached document with 27 pages takes 25 seconds to save in PDF-XChange Editor while less than a second in Acrobat 9. I had also tested a 300 page document which took 270 seconds to save in PDF-XChange Editor while only 10 second in Acrobat 9. This issue does not occur for all files, but only for some files. So, there must be something in these files which slows down PDF-XChange Editor so heavily.

This file saves instantly for me (I added a rectangle to the first page to modify it and then saved). Can you please check whether you have the latest Editor build (3.0.307.1):

aha, thanks, here is the next clue: When I save the file locally, indeed, it is very fast. However, we have our files on the network (intranet), and the saving on the network is extremely slow. So, it seems that PDF-XChange Editor does something during saving which causes a great amount of network traffic, well, at least a great amount of network interactions. Is this a direction you could look into? Thanks.

Oh, and yes, I have the latest build.

Hi Ralf,

I can certainly ask one of our dev team if there is anything that we can look into however I suspect that there may be little we can do here because, as I understand it, as we simply call the Windows API and it is actually Windows that handles this.

Maybe one of the devs can advise differently, but they are not available right now - it may be after the weekend before I hear anything further.

sure, I understand, but please keep in mind, that the saving by Acrobat is so much faster, and saving a 300 page document on the network should not take almost five minutes. Thank you for taking this into consideration.

We made some improvements on saving, and would be nice if we can send you a 'technical build' to test if that works ok on your side.
Should we send you a link to the download ?

P.S. Please let me know which OS you are using - 64- or 32-bits.
