mirrored Form Layout

Post by interpane09 »

Hello.

We have a Little Problem since we moved from Adobe Reader to Xchange Viewer.
We have a PDF which has a mirrored layout. It is a A4 Page in landscape. On the left is a form with form-fields. all the fields have an id. On the right side is another form-field, that has the exact same id as the left one.

whenever a user types in the left form and then leaves the field (TAB), the text is immediatley mirrored to the right side. This was the behaviour when using Adobe Reader.

The Xchange Viewer does not behave like this.

Does anyone know a solution?

Hello Marc,

Welcome to our forums. Can you please attach a copy of that form here for us to take a look at?

Hi interpane09,

It seems to be working in the new Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
So I would recommend you to download and install it, as the Editor is the successor of the Viewer, and all new development from here on would be done for it only.

Regards,
Stefan

hm, i will try the Editor again. but i tried it once and the behaviour on our terminal Servers (Windows Server 2008 R2) was not good. Took up lots of CPU-Ressources. but i have seen there is a new Version, even Gold one. so maybe it ist better now.

Hi interpane09,

Strange - it worked flawlessly for me with the same build under Win 7 x64.
Was the file modified with the Viewer before that? Can you try with a clean copy of the form and also on another version of windows other than Server 2008 ?

Stefan

I am testing on Win 8.1 x64 with Xchange Editor. Thats where the screenshots come from.
The Server runs wirth Server 2008 R2 x64 and Xchange Viewer - same Problem.

The File is not modified. It is opened just the way as it is attached to this thread.
I tried a local copy of the file, normally the file sits on a file Server.

same Problem.

Hi interpane09,

Thanks for the update - could you attach a screen-shot of the Help --> About window? (Please be sure to upload in a ZIP/RAR/7Zip archive).

Concerning the Ticker Number RT-2378. Is there any news? Maybe a new version I could test?

Hi interpane09,

I can see that this problem has been assigned to a developer, but there aren't any particular updates that I can share. I've just added a note in the ticket that this also affects the Editor so that it can be looked at faster.

Hi Marc,

no movement on the ticket. I raised the priority and hopefully this will be attended to sooner rather than later.
