[Problem Report] Feeling sorry for using up the HDD space

Post by great value »

My harddisk has only 2GB left,
during using it to view any picture-based* pdf documents,
the picture-based pdfs are about more than 200 - 300 pages.
The harddisk space is using up until no harddisk space left at all.
After close the PDF-Xchange viewer, the harddisk space come out again.

(*picture-based ---- each page has one picture scanned from a book)

I check the temp folder,
it has many tmp files creating during the viewing
of pdf file with PDF-Xchange Viewer.

pxv10F.tmp 3,358KB
pxv110.tmp 3,358KB
pxv111.tmp 15,151KB
pxv112.tmp 3,358KB
pxv113.tmp 15,151KB
pxv114.tmp 15,151KB
pxv115.tmp 15,151KB
pxv116.tmp 15,151KB
pxv117.tmp 15,151KB
pxv118.tmp 15,151KB
pxv11A.tmp 15,151KB
pxv11B.tmp 15,151KB
...
....
......

The harddisk space is decreasing showing under the directory of
"my computer", the harddisk space is decreasing very fast when the pdf file
is turning to next page.
Turning more and more next page, the harddisk space is decreasing more and more.

Sorry, that is my problem.

If I use adobe reader XI or google chrome to view such pdf files,
the harddisk space would not decrease, but I prefer PDF-XChange Viewer,
because it has many unique powerful function and useful tools.

Thank you.

Hi great value,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums - could you please try the Editor and let me know if that helps?
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXVE3.zip

The Editor is the replacement for the Viewer and, as such, only issue that we deem critical will be fixed in the Viewer. Eventually, even critical updates are likely to stop.

Cheers,
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Best regards
