Control CV function will not work

Post by Boise12345 »

Hello All,

I have a problem with one of my contractors' PDF Exchange. He has no functionality as it relates to using the "control CV" method for copying a line. I believe he is running Windows 7 or 8. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Thanks

To copy a line (that has been made with the "Line Tool" in the Comments toolbar), I do first select that line with the Select Tool. Then I press CTRL + C, followed by CTRL + V.

The phenomenon that I see when copying and pasting a line in that manner, is that the copied line lays just over the original line. It seems to be like just one line. You have to point the line with the mouse arrow, the pointer will change into a little black arrow, ... now you can move the copied line by keeping the mouse key and drag that line to somewhere else on the page.

Is this the problem that you see?

When copying a line via selecting that line and then doing a right-mouseclick followed by Copy, then a left-mouseclick somewhere else, and again a right-mouseclick followed by Paste, you do not see a problem.

Hi Boise12345 and Willy,

Thanks for the posts - please take a look at Willy's suggestion as it is very likely the problem. Pasting at cursor position is coming for to build 309, if all goes according to plan. That is obviously subject to a few things, but we will our best to deliver it then.

If that is not the issue, then let me know and we'll dig deeper.

Cheers,

Thank you for the responses. I use the function often for copying lines and we are definitely having an issue with it not copying the line or rectangle or circle etc. Not sure what the issue is. Do you think I should have my user uninstall and reinstall?

Hi Boise12345,

Thanks for getting back to us - does this happen on all documents, or just 1/a specific set? If the latter, could you please wrap the file in a Zip folder or RAR/7Zip archive and send to us here to test?

I am fairly certain it is 214.2 updated a week or two ago.

I have confirmed it as build 214.2, but in the meanwhile my contractor uninstalled and reinstalled from the Tracker website and that solved the problem. My guess is that the original download file I sent him was corrupted in transfer.

Sorry for the red herring.....

The service on this forum is outstanding! Much appreiated.

Thanks to all! :D
