PDF/A will not be lost after edit

Post by Dorwol »

If I open a PDF/A document and edit it with Adobe Reader, the PDF/A will lost.
This is correct, because the document was changed!

But if I open a PDF/A document and edit it with "Viewer SDK", the PDF/A is still exist!
Why?
Is this really PDF/A allowed? I'm unsure :?:

So my question is, how can I save a PDF/A as Standard PDF after a user made some changes?

Because I don't want still PDF/A after user has changed the document in our datebase!

---
BTW: Same problem, with your end user viewer.exe. If I made changes, PDF/A is still exist!

Hi Dorwol,

I've just tested this here and have spoken with the Dev. Team and they've told me that some commenting (Annotations like the Oval tool, the Rectangle Tool, Line tool, etc. are) is allowed under the PDF/A specification and that it shouldn't break compliance. Could you please advise on the specific changes that are being made?

Cheers,
