Feature request: multiple Annotation selection

Post by valkyriexp »

We use PDFXchange viewer to mark up construction drawings and put comments or even draw shapes to be added to the drawings. One of the problems is that it is not possible to select multiple annotative objects and change their properties at once. A drawing usually have about 100 to 150 markup objects so we are talking about fair number of comments.

We usually lock the objects if the marked up drawing is meant to be sent out, so we have to select every single object, go to properties and lock them one by one. if later we need to add comments to the objects we have to unlock them individually. it would have helped if we could select multiple objects (or all with Ctrl+Shift+A for example) and lock or unlock, or change their subject.

We also use color/border styles to indicate the type of comment, phase of implantation... now if we have bunch of red objects to be implemented we have to select them one by one and change them to green to indicate it's been done. again multiple selection would help.

finally copying multiple objects together is not possible, so creating same set of objects at multiple locations is not possible.

Lastly, I wish the program had a side panel to list the selected object properties, very much like the the IDE of the programming environments or any CAD program that allows you to change the properties of the selected object(s) through the side panels.

Thanks!

Hi valkyriexp,

Thanks for the post - multiple selection was something that has been implemented in the Editor, so I would recommend downloading and trying the Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXVE5.zip

Also, you may well find the Editor's properties pane more to your liking.

Cheers,
