Firefox plug-in disabled???
I have had Viewer installed for a long while now and think it is a great product. Last week I installed Editor to check it out. I have just discovered that I can not view pdf docs via weblinks in Firefox. Firefox displays the "plug-in disabled" window even though both plug-ins are set to "Always activate". I uninstalled the Editor but that did not solve the problem. I uninstalled/reinstalled the Viewer but no joy either. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. I can't say for certain that the Editor product had anything to do with this problem so no blame but I would appreciate assistance in getting the Viewer plug-in working again. FWIW, pdf links work fine with Internet Explorer. Suggestions?

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the post - could you try following the steps in this KB article and see if they help? The instructions are for the Editor, but the same principle is applied for the Viewer:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgeba ... la-Firefox
Failing that, please advise on the build of the Viewer (Help --> About) that you are using, as well as the Version of Firefox.
Cheers,

Re: Firefox plug-in disabled???
I did not have the "View PDF files in browsers" option enabled in the Viewer because I want PDF file displayed in the Viewer however to test things I configured all settings as shown in the KB (the application to handle PDF files is set to "PDF-XChange Viewer (default)"). I still receive the "plug-in disabled" window in FF.
As for versions, the Viewer is v2.5 b308.1 and FF is v30.0.

Re: Firefox plug-in disabled???
Hi Brian,
That's strange - I'm able to have the Viewer display in browser perfectly and the plugin isn't greyed out for me. Can you please send screen-shots of the following areas of Firefox:
1) Tools --> Options --> Applications
2) Tools --> Manage Addons

It had worked fine for me for years as well. I am not certain how to attach a screenshot so am trying to insert an image. We'll see what happens...

Re: Firefox plug-in disabled???
Hi Brian,
As per my email, the option that you've got set under Tools --> Options --> Applications is actually the incorrect one. As stated in the KB article, the application that you need to set is actually the one with the blue lego brick, regardless of what Firefox says. Firefox reports the name the wrong, a lot of the time. For example, I need this selected in order for my Default PDF handler to view PDF's in Firefox (regardless of what that handler is): Please select that and you should find this helps.
