ctrl shift i

Post by straffetoebak »

Code: Select all

ctrl shift i
is supposed to work for inserting a document; trouble is that sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't?
:? I can't figure out why.

Hello straffetoebak,

The only time I could reproduce this was when I have a context menu opened. Otherwise whether I've selected a tool, or e.g. the thumbnails pane - will always result in the "Insert Pages" dialogue appearing for me when I hit the key combination.

Can you please try to find a pattern that causes this behaviour at your end and share it with us?

Regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan, so far I can't.
I have found more odd stuff though:

Code: Select all

ctrl shift d
is supposed to delete pages, but instead it pops up a window called "Document Properties".

I use a qwerty keyboard and have CapsLock set to be Escape, but other than that I have done nothing special on the keyboard settings.
(Windows 8 BTW).

Hi straffetoebak,

If you have the thumbnails pane active - Ctrl-Shift-D will open a pop-up for page deletion indeed, but of you are in the main reading pane - this will indeed open the Document Properties window. So you can have some shortcuts assigned to more than one command, and based on where you are in the Editor one or the other will execute.

Stefan

Hi Stefan

How it works here:
ctrl-shift-d opens the Properties window, regardless whether I'm in the thumbnail pane or main window.
ctrl-shift-i does nothing in the main window; from the thumbnail pane it wil switch to the last tab (the one on top, when I have several documents open).

EDIT: I found a setting to reset all to default and that apparently solved it :D
EDIT: I spoke too soon; a minute later it doesn't work anymore...

Hi straffetoebak,

Thanks for the post and info. - I'm using a pre-release of the next build and this shortcuts are working fine for me. We're hoping to release the new build next week, provided all goes smoothly and no major hiccups occur. Could I ask you to hang tight until then and test with the new build?

Cheers,
