Merging PDFs???

Post by aclake »

Bought PDF X-Change Editor. Product comparison chart on Tracker website clearly says it is able to merge pdfs, which is one of the main reasons I purchased it. And, in the approximately one month since I've owned it, I have created a merged pdf using the "New Document" function.

Well, now the "merge" option is gone from the "New Document" function (where did it go? Did Tracker take it back?). This gulled me into purchasing the "Tools" package hoping to fix the problem, which made absolutely no difference. Question is--after purchasing these products, how do I merge multiple pdfs, as advertised???

And on other unhappy notes--god forbid customers be given an actual Support telephone line (no, that would require resources--resources best allocated to the undoubtedly well-staffed Sales Department, ready to take your order). No, go post on a forum and hope someone sees your query someday and takes pains to answer it. Great for those working under a deadline.

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Anthony,

Please refer to my response to the email that you sent in for instructions on merging with PDF-Tools.

As for the disappearing option from the "New Document" menu, please try going to View --> Toolbars --> Customize Toolbars and hitting the "Reset All" button.

Regarding our methods of Support, we have found that, in 99% of cases, it is far quicker and easier for both parties, for us answer via email/the forums. Given the nature of the software, we generally need to receive example files from users, or screen-shot that demonstrate error messages, etc. None of this can be done over the phone. Email also allows us to send screen-shots, license keys, etc. and add far more detail than we otherwise could over the phone. You will also find that, generally (depending on the complexity and nature of the issue) our response times are between 15 and 30 minutes.

Thanks,

Will-

WTF? I cannot believe you made Tony wait a whole 15 minutes before responding with a fix. That is pretty inconsiderate when he had a deadline. I mean, he used three, count 'em, three question marks. You must have known the importance. I guess you must only moonlight here and your real focus is in the well-staffed sales department.

I'm part of the 99%. Forum support is not only better than phone support the Tracker support group specifically is some of the best and most prompt support I've ever dealt with.

and just to answer one further point - we do not have a single dedicated full time member of staff for sales employed for the entire company.

We have dedicated support staff located in the UK, Canada, USA and Ukraine - but no dedicated sales staff in any office located anywhere.

We employ 30+ staff worldwide and of those around 20 are developer's involved in our products or website, 8 are dedicated for the majority of their time to support the balance are admin based or part time.

We have always worked on the premise that if the products are what they should be, priced competitively and most important the support is Responsive and FREE then the products should for the most part sell themselves.

So far - for the most part this has worked over the last 17 years...

The support you guys provide is as good as any I have encountered. A previous post starting with this line really had me laughing.
