IE Plug-In for one user missing

Post by digitlman77 »

We ripped Adobe Reader off our Citrix servers and put on PDF Xchange free viewer.

Been working AWESOME, but one user doesn't have the IE plug in to view PDFs in IE. I installed the IE plug in on all the Citrix servers and she is the only one with this issue.

It's not disabled - it doesn't even show up as installed. I had her do an IE reset. She does not have it as a choice to enable add ons.

How best to fix this?

Hi digitlman77,

Thanks for the post - this is to with the way that IE handles how such plugins are reported and, as such, we don't have any control over whether or not this is displayed.

Please go to Edit --> Preferences --> File Associations and make sure that you have enabled viewing in browsers. Once enabled, PDF's should then display in browser. If they still don't, please make sure that you have IE's protected mode (Tools --> Internet Options --> Security) turned down to at least Medium, as IE doesn't allow for plugins to be launched when Protected Mode is set to High.

Keep me posted!
