How to disable hyperlinks that aren't real hyperlinks

Post by samuel_murray »

Hello everyone

[I've returned to using PDF X Change Viewer 2.5 as a paid user, after trying out PDF X Change Editor 5.5 for a month (in which selecting text is a nightmare of mouse-hand-eye coordination).]

I find that if a PDF file contains an e-mail address that is NOT hyperlinked, PDF X Change Viewer will try to launch my e-mail program with that e-mail address if I click on the e-mail address. This is unwanted behaviour. Elsewhere in PDF files, I can double-click any word to select that word, but I want to be able to double-click the "name" portion of an e-mail address to select it as well. I suppose PDF X Change Viewer is trying to be "clever" by treating the e-mail address as if it is a hyperlinked e-mail address. How can I disable that "functionality" in PDF X Change Viewer 2.5?

Thanks
Samuel

Hi Samuel,

Thanks for the post - the only way to disable this, would be to disable the automatic parsing of all links. This can be done by going to Edit --> Preferences --> Page Display and turn of the automatic creation of links.

HTH!

Thank you.

Thanks, that did the trick.
