Can't Open PDF file saved through PDF X-Change

Post by Philx »

I received a PDF doc by email which opened fine in X Change. I have added a bunch of sticky notes and then saved the doc with a new title. I then tried to reopen the new doc in xchange and nothing happened but the new doc shows as a file when I go to File-Open. I am using Ver 2 Bld 42.9. I am mainly concerned about retrieving the saved doc complete with the sticky notes so I can forward it to the original author. Any thoughts?

Hello Philx,

Thank you for the post. You seem to be using an extremely old build. Please try the latest build of the Editor. You can install it here: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXVE5.zip

Failing that, please send us the document so that we can troubleshoot further.

Cheers!

I am trying to attach an annotated PDF to an email using Windows Live Mail but WLM does not see the file even though I can see it using Windows Explorer. I imagine this is probably a WLM issue but any hints would be appreciated.

Hi Philx,

I'm afraid that this would be a Windows Live Mail issue, and we can't really offer any suggestions or advice, as this is completely separate from our application and we don't have any information on how Windows Live Mail access the local file system. You'd need to contact Microsoft for further advice on that.

Sorry that we can't help more!

Just for information.

When composing a new message in Microsoft "Windows Live Mail 2012", and clicking the "Attach File" icon in the Message ribbon or in the Insert ribbon, an "Open" dialog box shows up. By default, it shows "All Files (*.*)". There is no option to change this.

So, there is no explanation why PDF-files should not be visible (annotated or not).
All the files that are visible via Windows Explorer, are available for "attachment" in a new message in Windows Live Mail too.

Best regards.
