Hi everyone
My colleagues and I are currently using two pdf-viewers within the same company.
My colleague is using pdfxchangeviewer while I'm using (due to server settings) adobe DC.
Unfortunately there seems to be a compatibility problem between the two.
The printscreens below shows you the exact types of software I am using.
The other one shows you wich error there's popping up.
It's in dutch so I'm gonna translate it for you guys:
can't take out the enclosed font 'pkftcb + calibri'. Some symbols might possibly be not correctly showed or can't be printed.

I'm sure the error starts when there's placed some tekst into the pdf with pdf xchange viewer.
I've allready tried with different lettertypes but nothing seems to fix it.
Do you guys might know what the problem could be?
I've allready searched your search engine but unfortunately I didn't find a solution.
Thanks in advance

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hello vldr,
Welcome to our forums.
It seems like the font you are using for the comments you add with the Viewer is not embedded correctly.
Please try to use the PDF XChange Editor instead:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
And the problem should disappear.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hi
Thanks for the quick reply.
On first sight I see that the editor is not a free version.
Is this correct?

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hi
Yes so I've tried it with the editor, but with the viewer (free) you're capable of executing lot's of more features then the editor.
Do you guys put intentionally bugs in your free version or is there really a workaround?
Thanks in advance

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hello vldr,
There are definitely no bug added "on purpose", and pretty much all free features you have in the Viewer are also available in the Editor, and while some features of the Editor do require license - those are clearly marked, so please do download and give the Editor a try.

Stefan

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hi Stefan
First of all; thanks for your reply.
So my colleague has given the editor a chanse but he's just not that happy with it.
He would really like to continue using the viewer instead of the editor. He says the viewer is more 'customizable' than the editor.
Things have to go fast and efficient around here, so I can't blame him...
Now...
Isn't there any other solution for my problem? If I open a 'problem-pdf' and resave it with my adobe reader dc the error dissapears.
So according to me the error is generated while saving with the viewer. Could there be a fix or workaround?
Thanks in advance

Re: Compatibility with adobe
Hello vldr,
I am afraid but the facts are still the same - it's unlikely that any changes will be done to the Viewer, and all new features and fixes are only going to be implemented in the Editor.
If the Editor opens and manipulates the files correctly - this is the tool I would advise to be used.
What customization in particular is your colleague unhappy with in the Editor? This is an area in which we could improve!
Regards,
Stefan
