Adjust measurement (size) in a pdf file - HOW to do?

Post by StreifLicht »

I have a pdf file and want to add some measurements to it.
Have already calibrated the tool and added some exact measurements.
But the measurements are too big compared to the drawing. Please refer to the attached example drawing.
I would like to have the measurement (line, arrow ant measurement text nearly in the size of the existing measurement.

What i have tried:
- Have downloaded PDF-XChange Pro v6
- Have adjusted the size of the arrows.
- But how to adjust the text size of the measurement?

Hi StreifLicht,

Thanks for the post - line thickness can be changed with the measurement selected, here:

You will need to enable the Properties Toolbar with Ctrl + E or using the View --> Toolbars --> Properties Toolbar[/b] option. Changing the line thickness will also change the arrow size.

The text size can be adjusted by double left clicking the measurement to open a pop-up. Changing the text formatting inside of the pop-up will also change it on the measurement line.

HTH!

Thank you.

Almost reached the goal.. :D

Now, i would like to shorten the distance between measurement text and measurement line (see sketch attached).
Measurement1.pdf
Second point: I have to set font size 3 to get the right size to the measurement text.
There are two problems regarding this:

a) Setting this setup as default:
If i define this setting (Font Arial, font size 3) together with the line settings as the
new standard, every time i draw a new measurement the line settings are ok but the
font size is 9. So i always have to edit it manually (double click, in the popup mark the
text and then enter manually 3 in the font size box).

b) The popup window
Is there a possibility to show this text larger in the popup (see also sketch)?
Measurement2.pdf
It would be nice if its possible.

Regards Andreas

Hello StreifLicht,

Just click the text and drag it closer or further away from the line - and the vertical connector line will adjust accordingly (see my screenshot in your updated Measurement1.pdf)

As for the second issue - the text and the appearance of the annotation are stored separately, and it seems like the text can not currently be set at a different default for measurements, and the size will be applied for both the appearance on the page and in the pop-up window, so no way to have the text small on the page and big in the pop-up at the same time.

Regards,
Stefan
