Truncated results from search and find

Hi. I have been using PDF-XChange Viewer for a few months.

Today I was searching a 163-page pdf for all occurrences of the word "prior." For some reason the results in PDF-XChange list only the first 17 occurrences of the word, with the last one it identifies being on page 73 of the document. The Find function gives me the same 17 results. But when I search using Adobe Reader, if finds the remaning 33 occurrences, on pages 74-163 of the document, and the sidebar with the results becomes scrollable.

Any idea why PDF-XChange viewer is truncating the results and how I might remedy this? Thanks.

Thanks for the post. We will need to see the file before we can comment, but please note that the Viewer is now no longer actively developed as it was succeeded by the PDF XChange Editor:

May I suggest that you give the Editor a try - and report the find results there?

Thanks Stefan. I'll do that. But first a question: I spent a fair amount of time customizing the viewer. When I install PDF XChange Editor, is there a way to transfer over any of my settings automatically? Also, can you confirm it's OK to have both programs installed at the same time? (I presume the answer is "yes," but thought I should double-check.)

Hello Rick,

Unfortunately the settings used by the Editor and Viewer are separate, and there is no way to transfer them between the products.
As for installing them both alongside each other - that is perfectly fine and should not cause any troubles.
