Greetings! I'm a long-time user of both Viewer and Editor which I have appreciated very much over the years. This would be the first time I've visited the Tracker forums and I come because I'm experiencing an issue with line weight rendering. I'm attaching a PDF file exported from Serif PagePlus X9 which renders perfectly in Editor. In Viewer, the black outlines around the white letters are so thin as to be almost non-existent and the white outlines around the large blue letters don't show up at all. I've also included a .zip file with screen shots of how the file renders in both apps on my system. (Where can I find a list of acceptable file formats for attachments? .png, .jpg, and .tif were all rejected.)

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the post - The Viewer was replaced by the Editor and discontinued quite some time ago, so I would recommend that you just use the Editor for this, as very few (if any) further changes are being made to the Viewer.
Cheers,

Thanks very much Will -- guess I'm a bit behind the times on Viewer's status! I'll just bid it a fond farewell and uninstall it. Appreciate the list of acceptable file attachments.

Re: Line weight rendering varies between Viewer & Editor
On going to do the PDF-XChange Viewer uninstall, in my Win 7 Programs and Features list I find something called "PDF-Viewer" from Tracker (installation date 11/13/2016) listed just above "PDF-XChange Editor" (installation date 11/29/2016), but no "PDF-XChange Viewer". Is it possible that my recent update of Editor auto-uninstalled XChange Viewer (seems I did see it flash "Uninstalling programs") and this "PDF-Viewer" is a component of the new Editor and should not be uninstalled? (If so, why would the install dates differ?)

Re: Line weight rendering varies between Viewer & Editor
1) PDF-XChange Viewer and PDF-XChange Editor can be installed independently of each other.
These two applications can each work on their own. They do NOT depend of each other.
The only thing is that the "Viewer" was Tracker Software's first application that they developed to read, print and annotate pdf's. Later, they developed a totally new application, the "Editor", that - like the name says - can also edit pdf's.
Actually, at Tracker Software, the further development of the Viewer has been discontinued, because the Editor has come into its place.
2) If you see "PDF-Viewer" in the list of "Programs and Features", then it goes about version 2.5.318.0 (or older).
In later releases (actually 2.5.319.0), the name in the list has been changed to PDF-XChange Viewer.
The best thing that you can do - in case if you like both the Viewer AND the Editor - is uninstall "PDF-Viewer" (probably followed by a restart of your computer) and also uninstall "PDF-XChange Viewer". After this, re-install "PDF-XChange Viewer".
Best regards.

Re: Line weight rendering varies between Viewer & Editor
Thanks, Willy. I'm happy to drop XChange Viewer and just use Editor. I wanted to make sure that "PDF-Viewer" was not a component of Editor and can be safely uninstalled without adversely affecting Editor. It sounds like it can.
