PDF/A-1 enable editing
I would find it helpful if there was an option in Preferences to turn off the notification (which should be left as default) that "This document complies with the PDF/A-1a standard. All editing and interactive features are disabled" whenever such a file is opened. Instead of that popping up every time, I would prefer to have a setting put in the Document Properties window to Enable Editing for that particular document.

Re: PDF/A-1 enable editing
I just found that I can add the Enable Editing command to a toolbar or menu. Is there a way I can turn off the notification that I'm not finding?

Re: PDF/A-1 enable editing
Hello,
Myself, I am afraid that I do not fully understand your question, because when I open a PDF/A document, there is already an "Enable Editing" button in the warning banner. See my "print screen" in the attached ZIP-file.
Are you sure to be using the latest version of PDF-XChange Editor, namely V6 build 321.0 ?

Best regards.

Hello DS1,
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Cheers!
I am afraid it is not yet possible to turn off this notification, though the notification toolbar will be able to be turned off in the next build release.I just found that I can add the Enable Editing command to a toolbar or menu. Is there a way I can turn off the notification that I'm not finding?
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Cheers!

Yes, that's what I'm asking for, for the notification bar to be able to be turned off. Maybe when the notification bar is disabled the little warning icon to be put on the document tab as a bit of a visual alert that it is not an editable file.

Re: PDF/A-1 enable editing
Hi ds1,
As Patrick said - it will be possible in a future build to turn those bars off. I still do not have a pre-release version of the next build to try it - but I presume there will be some other form of notification when such warnings are disabled in general.
Cheers,
Stefan

Re: PDF/A-1 enable editing
Unfortunately I'm not being able to edit, and as you mentioned, I do not see "This document complies with the PDF/A-1a standard. All editing and interactive features are disabled" in my Preference manu.ds1 wrote:I would find it helpful if there was an option in Preferences to turn off the notification (which should be left as default) that "This document complies with the PDF/A-1a standard. For the time being, you can show/hide the PDF/A bar via the keystroke Ctrl+Alt+I or SHIFT+R or you can show/hide it by adding the "Document Info Bar" command to your toolbar.

Re: PDF/A-1 enable editing
The Document Info Bar command doesn't provide a proper solution, since it only hides it for that particular document and only until the document is closed.

Hi ds1,
Joseph's suggestion was not intended as a permanent solution, but a temporary workaround.
