is there any possibility to add an option for limiting the width the tab bar?
e.g. people can set the width a constant value for all tabs
thanks.

Re: width of the tab bar
Hi,
can I add to that the following feature request:
Could you also implement a choice whether to display the tab bar at the top *or* the bottom of the window?
Or, even better, turn it into a floating panel with snapping feature, like the other menu bars?
And while I'm at it: the bottom scroll bar is always visible, even if there's nothing to scroll, which wastes screen space.
By the way, the same somewhat applies to the "navigation bar" (I'm lacking a better word) at the bottom:
it's entries (forward/backward, page number, single/double page etc.) are fixed and cannot be changed.
This could be reduced or streamlined into one single menu bar like in Acrobat - which really maximizes the available screen space
(minus the tab bar, of course).
Thanks!

Yes, would be useful, thanks.bluemode wrote:is there any possibility to add an option for limiting the width the tab bar?

thanks.
(If I use a new skin for Opera I always edit skin.ini to set max. and min. for tabs to the same value).

Re: width of the tab bar
I think some of these requests are getting a bit over the top. This viewer is already enormously customisable. If I load ten PDF files — several with long filenames — they all fit on my tab bar. After that, I get a scroll icon to view more files.
Honestly, if you're working with dozens of documents at once you should not be hunting and pecking for them on the tab bar. Open the Thumbnail View from the Tile Icon on the extreme left of the tab bar, and pick the file you wish to view from there. It is much easier.
I hope some of the other requests will be implemented if there is time, but I don't see anything here as being a high priority. Someone will be asking for skins next.
At least 90% of development efforts should go into ensuring that the viewer can open all kinds of PDF files quickly and view them as smoothly as possible.
Kudos to the developers for the powerful new features to print Tiled Pages, nUp, and Booklets. This is the kind of feature that really makes PDF-XChange useful. It recently solved a problem for someone on the PagePlus forums. PagePlus has no option to print multi-page signatures for books (a signature is a 24 page book section printed as a booklet for perfect binding). PDF-XChange can do this from a PDF file of the entire book by printing a booklet from the selected range of pages.

Re: width of the tab bar
Has this feature been added to PDF XChange Viewer yet? I can't seem to find it.
I would love to see the software manage its tabs kind of like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. Basically, width of the tabs are initially constant and it will shorten as more and more PDF tabs are opened. I find that tabs with all the same width easier to manage rather than the opposite.
Thanks!

Hello SirKiwi,
And welcome to our forums.
Nope - this feature is still not implemented, and it will not be in ver2 of our Viewer - as we are finalizing the work on ver3 of the same:
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... hp?t=10100
And at this point I can not confirm that it will be present there. So lets see what ver3 will bring and come back to this feature once the new Viewer is available.
Best,
Stefan
