Link tool stuck in advanced mode

Hi forum and support team,

my Link tool always seems to bring up the advanced Link Target window directly, like here:


I however need to use the basic Link Target dialog box:


I can't however seem to find a way to change back from the former to the latter.

Hi David,

Thanks for the post - Are you seeing this with the Editor? I ask because your initial screenshot does not show the Editor, as far as I can tell. I'm not seeing this here with Build 322.7 of the Editor and, as far as I'm aware, there is no option to 'Always Use Advanced Link Editor' built-in to the Editor.

If you are using the Editor, then please try to reset the default dialog state under Edit --> Preferences --> Dialogs.

thank you for the fast reply. I did that, however I still get this dialog first when creating a link with the Link tool:


After selecting "Go to a Page in the Document", the advanced "Edit Action" dialog appears:


I still can't seem to get back to the simple "Link Target" dialog box:


Do you have any other idea how to resolve this?

Are you creating this links with Tools --> Link Tools --> Link Creation Tools? Or are you editing a bookmark's action?

I can't reproduce this at all. Please try resetting you settings completely (Edit --> Reset Settings) and let me know if that works.

Thank you Will -- that works, however I can't afford to loose my settings.

So the problem seems to be that the basic "Browse for Link Target" dialog:

...simply is skipped and not shown anymore at all when using the Link tool.

Instead, application of the Link tool directly jumps to the "Edit Action List":

If a settings reset fixes it - then maybe there is something wrong with the state your current settings are.
Can you please export a copy of them and send it to us?
