Assume I load a pdf document into Editor and edit multiple items.
At this moment I can still perform some Undos.
Then I save the current pdf and suddenly no more undos are possible.
Occasionally I want to edit a pdf, then save it and go back (=undo) several steps.
Beginning from this earlier state I want to modify it in a slightly different way and save it as a second variant.
Therefore I need an Undo backwards beyond a "save".
How can I achieve this?

How to allow undos after "save"?

Hello clsven,
Welcome to our forum. I hope you will enjoy your stay.
Our PDF-XChange Editor has the option to Undo changes even after you save the changes:
If this, for some reason does not work for you, you can try to set up the recovery settings to do what you need:
I hope this helps.
Regards.

Hello clsven,
Could you please try to reset your program settings to their default values and see if this solves your problem.
You can do this under the Main menu -> File -> Reset Settings:

This does NOT work.
Have a look at the following screen recording:
https://www37.zippyshare.com/v/CrZENfi5/file.html
Unfortunately your forum software does not allow upload of *.mp4 videos. So you have to download it from this file server.
It shows:
After saving the modified pdf no UNDO is possible.
So again: Whats wrong?

Hello clsven,
What I see from your video is that you have done the Reset Settings part but you did not use the Incremental Save feature.
I just checked it on my machine here and everything works as it supposed to. Do the next steps:
1) Reset the settings
2) Create New Document
3) Open the Settings (Ctrl+K) then the Documents category in it and check the "Always use incremental save" checkbox and click OK.
4) Add an annotation to the document
5) Save the document
After this step the undo should be available.
Cheers,
Alex

Re: How to allow undos after "save"?
@Hello Sasha
ok, "incremental Save" helps a bit but there is still a problem:
If I click after "Save" on the "undo" arrow icon, then ALL modifications are undone at once in one step.
I don't want this!
If I click the first time on the "undo" arrow then only the last modification (=here: delete) should be undone.
When I click a second time on the "Undo" arrow then the second last modification (here: insert text) should be undone
an so far.
How can I achieve this?

Re: How to allow undos after "save"?
Hello clsven,
Are you using the registered version of the Editor? And also, what version exactly are you using? I just tried a random scenario with Save, Undo and Redo - everything worked as expected.
Also, we'll need a sample video/gif that illustrates your problem.
Cheers,
Alex
