Hi,
I'm creating a lengthy PDF document (~500 pages so far), and therefore, the table of contents is also long. It also is not visually appealing, as I find it difficult to read due to the levels for the 3rd level bookmarks all run together. What I'd like to do is perhaps insert a bullet that precedes each new bookmark so that it demarcates each bookmark from the others. Alternatively, or maybe even in addition to, I'd like to insert a blank line in between each bookmark.
I realize that TOC's were designed to have shorter headings than what I'm using, but I don't want to do that. I also know I could use smaller text, but that's not ideal, either.
Any suggestions? A snip of my TOC is attached, as well as my TOC settings.
Many thanks,
Dave

Re: Table of contents: bulleting or inserting blank line in between each level
Hello BeachBoy,
I do not believe it is possible to place a line break or a divider between titles in the generated ToC. However, to be sure, I have sent a message to our writer who uses the Build Table of Contents feature frequently. If anyone knows how to do something like this, it will be him. Once I have his response, I will let you know if there is a way to do this or any other viable workarounds.

Thanks, Daniel, much appreciated. I'd also be happy with a bullet preceding each item in the TOC.

Hello BeachBoy,
After speaking with our Writer, it seems the add text option could be used to add bullet points, as you suggested above.
To add bullets, go to the Bookmarkss tab, before generating the ToC and click on Add text. Add a dash, or bullet point, whichever you wish to have present as a marker. Note that you can also add the heirarchical index, bookmark level, and a few other automated Macro function into the prefix and suffix fields.
Finally click OK once you have finished customizing the prefix, to apply it to all bookmarks, then generate your ToC like usual, you should have results akin to mine:
