Hello,
there is one feature I really miss in this otherwise great product: In many word processing applications (such as Microsoft Word) etc. it is possible to
* move the cursor to the beginning of the next word using "Ctrl + Right"
* move the cursor to the beginning of the current (or previous) word using "Ctrl + Left"
* move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph using "Ctrl + Down"
* move the cursor to the beginning of the current (or previous) paragraph using "Ctrl + Up"
* mark text until the beginning of the next word using "Shift + Ctrl + Right"
* mark text until the beginning of the current (or previous) word using "Shift + Ctrl + Left"
* mark text until the beginning of the next paragraph using "Shift + Ctrl + Down"
* mark text until the beginning of the current (or previous) paragraph using "Shift + Ctrl + Up"
The paragraph moves / markings are not that important to me, but the word moves / markings would really help. Currently, when moving the cursor in a document In PDF-XChange Editor, the Ctrl key is without function (so this feature would not interfere with anything else).
Regards
iguana

Re: Wish list: Ctrl + Right to move cursor to beginning of next word
Hello Iguana,
Indeed the Ctrl key does not seem to affect text selection/navigation currently, so I've created a Feature Request ticket in our internal system:
#4511: FR: Ctrl + Right to move cursor to beginning of next word
So that our devs could review and consider this.
As soon as we have any news on the subject - we will post an update here!
Cheers,
Stefan

Re: Wish list: Ctrl + Right to move cursor to beginning of next word
Hello Stefan,
thank you so much for implementing the Ctrl + arrow keys in the current version, it works really well!
Now there is one last thing (or maybe I just didn't find the keyboard shortcut for it yet): I basically need the digital form of pencil-and-ruler-highlighting in books, so, using the keyboard only, I would like to
1. navigate the cursor in the text of a document using the Ctrl + arrow keys (works well now),
2. select a passage (usually just a few words) with Shift + Ctrl + arrow keys (works well, too)
3. highlight the selected passage (works with a keyboard shortcut which I defined for the highlight button in the toolbar)
4. continue navigating the cursor in the text of the document.
Step 4 is the problem: After selecting a passage (2.) and pressing the highlight button in the toolbar (3.), the cursor is gone, i.e. the focus moves away from the text, and I need a mouse click each time to get it back and continue navigating (4.). Positioning the mouse significantly reduces the speed and the ergonomics of the process. The same problem occurs with a keyboard shortcut which I created for highlighting (I used STRG + SPACE).
Ideally, after highlighting, the focus should be back on the text immediately, with the cursor at its last position (i.e. at the end of the highlighted passage); if this can't be done directly, is there any keyboard shortcut for it?
I use this highlighting a lot, literally on thousands of pages which I read for my studies, creating dozens of highlightings on each page; at this amount, using the keyboard is far more ergonomic for me than the mouse.

Hello Iguana2,
Thank you for the suggestion, this is an excellent point, without this functionality the feature feels incomplete. I have brought this to the attention of the Dev team and they intend to add this as well. I cannot speak for when exactly, but we do plan to implement it.
Kind regards,
