No problem. Draw a rectangle and align the text to that by dragging it after you finished editing. Then delete the rectangle.

I don't think there is much need for more than that in a PDF Viewer. If you need precision and flexibility, you should produce your PDF from a page layout program. PagePlus 11 and later versions can import PDF files, then you can edit or annotate the PDF file before publishing a new one.

All I am using it for is filling in downloaded PDF forms. What I am trying to do is where they have things like date of birth and they seperate it figure of the date of birth into a different box on the form, is to align the figures.

Thanks for the reply.

Aligning into form fields depends from the properties of these fields. Default alignment is "left".

Sorry. I'm talking about vertical alignment when you have to type each digit seperately to put them in there boxes. See attached form as an example.

(Odd that this site doesn't allow uploading of pdfs)

Thanks,

re: Uplaoding of PDF's - this is simply because not all PDF's are created equal - some PDF creation tools are not so efficient in producing small files and there can be considerable wasted band width and storage.

Also with regards other file types - there could be dubious content that we would not want executed or visible.

But rs2157's question still hasn't been answered - is there a way to align text (or other edited objects), e.g. vertically along a straight line?

However, after browsing the forum a little while I have the impression that it is not (yet) possible.
But it would be a great enhancement for future versions to have some "align to grid" function (snap) or similar!

Cheers,
Peter

Group operations with annots (aligning, distributing, etc.) will be added into build 41 or build 42.

Hi LemonBanana,

there is no tool to align objects to each other, you will need to enable snapping and use either guides or the grid. View --> Show and View --> Snap.
