[Feature request] insert a signature into PDF

Post by ruudboek »

Inserting a signature would be a very important feature for PDF-XChange Viewer in my option, because it would complete the whole workflow of filling out forms in PDF files.

Since it has been descided that the feature of inserting images will not be implemented in PDF-XChange Viewer, maybe we can find a solution for inserting a signature that will not conflict with this descision.

Would it be possible to add a signature to a stamp. The adding of the signature can then be done by importing an image, but the limitation will be that the imported image will only be in black and white, which should be sufficient for signatures.

Also i would like to add that it would be very confinient if there would be an option available to scale this signature so that you can make in fit in between lines of a PDF form for example.

I think it may be a good idea to then store the imported signature in some binary file in the userprofile of the current user. This will prevent that the signature will also be available to other users who log onto the same computer.

Hi,

The ability to add images (including personlised stamps) will be available - but only in the 'PRO' version I am afraid - for which there will be a modest charge for when available.

I am afraid there does come a point where we do have to make a charge to allow for ongoing support and development to pay those that have worked on this project for almost 3 years - with no revenue being generated whatsoever.

all costs so far have been met from our own resources and there are limits to what is possible from a free product.

There will continue of course to be a free product and we will continue to add features and improve - but the ability to add images to an existing file will not be in the free version.

Thanks as always for your comments.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards

Hi:

New user here. I think it's fine to charge for features that are oft-requested and of value. I will happily purchase a version that offers custom stamps (e.g. my signature).

Is this feature yet available, and if so, in which version?

thx...
