Why can't I select text in a document?

I scanned and saved a check. I am trying to select text in order to highlight it. Normally when I run the OCR feature on a document it allows me to then use the text select feature. But for some reason all I can do is make a box around the text that I am trying to select.

I deselected anything in the settings that might be preventing it.

From what I can make out in your screenshot, the document in use has some light speckling from either age or the scanner. As such, using "high accuracy" is not advised for the OCR process. Please try reducing this to "Medium" and then try again.

If that does not work, please send us a copy of the original document you are trying to OCR so that we can investigate further here.
