Req: continuous scrolling between pages in Fullscreen mode

Post by angusj »

I have 'Page Layout' set to continuous which works as expected in the Normal viewing mode. However, this behaviour isn't followed in Fullscreen viewing mode where I get 'Single Page' scrolling only. I hope this is a bug rather the intended behaviour.

Also, it'd be great if the page zoom value was maintained when switching between Normal and Fullscreen views.

That's the way it is designed to work.

Try hiding the toolbars instead (F11). This is better than fullscreen mode as it preserves the zoom level and bookmark panel, etc., even when switching between several open document with Control + Tab.

OK. However, is there a reason why there isn't the option for continuous scrolling?

Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't tried that until now. It seems an excellent alternative.

I would also like to have the possibility to scroll in fullscreen mode. The F11-Function which should hide all panels and is kind of a semi-fullscreen mode could be perfect. In this mode i can choose e.g. a markup tool and have two pages with continuous scrolling. So i can maximize the reading area. The problem is that not all the panels are being hidden. The toolbar on top is still there and the navigation toolbar on the bottom + the taskbar are still there. All this things take space and i dont need them while reading and annotating. The other negative effect of the F11-Function is that it doesnt remember how i organized the menus. If i get back to the normal view, every menu in the menu toolbar is enabled, even if it was disabled before (I´m positive this bug is being worked on for UI-optimization).

So perfect would be a fullscreen mode, where i can choose two pages besides each other with continuous scrolling and have the possibility to choose a markuptool via rightclick-menu.

Thanks in advance.

I tested the new version 2.0 Build 40.5 and it now feautures what i requested some months ago. First change is that if you press F11 and press F11 again to get back to normal mode, all toolbars stay at the same place as they were and there are no annoying toolbars floating around. And i found the second change by accident: If you press F12 for fullscreen and THEN F11, you can choose your tools or set continuous scrolling with two pages besides each other and hide the toolbars again with F11.

Great, thats what i needed. Thank you for your work. Now PDF XChange is my PDF-Viewer of choice. :D

I agree, fullscreen definitely has it's advantages, but you may fine that it would be easier to just create hot-keys for the functions you described....customize/commands/view.....
