Adding a check mark to a PDF, possibly using the Typewriter tool

Post by tkpmep »

I am filling out a document that does not have correctly implemented form fields, but has little rectangles over which I can type a response. I would like to place a check mark in these locations, and have tried in three ways:
1. Using the typewriter tool: This only allows me to input symbols that are available on the keyboard (but i can copy symbols from Word)
2. Using the Stamps tool on the Comment tab: This has many stamps but no check marks
3. Using the Pencil tool on the Comment tab to manually draw a check mark: This works but doesn't look great

A clumsy solution is to go into Word, insert a symbol (Wingdings 252), copy it and then paste it into a box created using the Typewriter tool. This is clumsy - surely there must be a better way to insert checkmarks (or more generally, any ASCII character)?

Sincerely

Hello tkpmep,

Welcome to our forums.
We have some sets of free stamp collections here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/stamp-collections
And those include check marks.

You can also create your custom stamps and stamp collections if you want to make your own check marks:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... Stamp-Tool

And you can even download stamp collections from elsewhere - and they will likely also work in the Editor too:

Kind regards,
Stefan
