PDF-XChange Viewer chrashes reproducibly
Dear Tracker Software!
I have experienced the following problem(s) with the PDF-XChange Viewer:
1. open a PDF document
2. create a textbox
3. enter "ü bew" in that textbox
4. save the document
5. PDF-XChange Viewer chrashes!
The text "ü bew" was the smallest text I could find to reproduce the problem.

I cannot reproduce the crash here, so you need to give more details.
Does this happen with all PDF documents or only one? If only one, then you need to attach the document here or send it to Tracker Software.
What font are you using? Does it happen with other fonts?

I tested it with 3 different pdf files. It crashes all the same.
I do use Version 1.0 (Build 0033) of the portable version.
I just downloaded PDF-XChange Viewer and annotated a file. I.e. I did not change any settings. The font therefore is Arial 12.
I'm using the German version of Win XP SP2.
Did you copy&paste the text including the umlaut?

Take any PDF file, e.g. your very own http://files.docu-track.com/U3DPR.pdf or http://files.docu-track.com/OrderForm.pdf. (I don't have to attach those, do I?)
The crash happens with textboxes containing umlauts. Not every umlaut does provoke the crash, but certain texts do so reproducibly, e.g. "ü bew".

Yes - but I would like to see a file that you have modified if possible - using German localised Windows.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Using Arial is the secret ingredient. Arial Bold causes a crash too.
Error report sent to Microsoft.
I get a crash every time with just wä and with eä but not with "we" or "bew, just with "w" or "e" + a composite character.
I looked at Arlal in FontCreator and found that the "w" has some redundant points, as do many other glyphs. It is not unusual, even in professional fonts.
I removed the redundant points, saved it as a new font, installed it, and tested. I could not get a crash.
