Online update checking mechanism problem

Would it be possible to use the user's Internet Explorer settings to perform the online check for product updates?
My company uses a URL based .pac file as a firewall to the internet - the proxy based method within PDF-XChange Viewer can't be used with this so the check fails.

Checking both options "Use Proxy" and "Use default browser proxy settings" doesn't help ?
