Build version of PDFXVwer.zip

Post by BobM »

Would it be possible to include the version number of the viewer in the initial installation dialogue and/or the filename.
Currently, there is nothing to show the build version of the contents of PDFXVwer.zip until it has been installed. So if you have an old copy lying around, you don't know if its the latest without installing it.

Thanks,

Bob

You can do this to find out version:

extract zip file, go with your mouse over PDFXVwer.exe filename.
A baloon tip is shown with some infos about that file - it also shows fileversion.

Hi,

It is not possible to change the download file name I am afraid as this is registered with many download mirrors and sites and would mean we have to actually visit them and update the info each tme we update the build which is impracticle - however we will include a pad file in XML format in each builds zip file with build info from Build 35 onwards etc.

HTH

pad file in XML format
What's that? :?: Why not a simple readme.txt file?

It can be read quite easily by any text editor such as notepad or IE etc and is a file we distribute to a multitude of download sites to advise a new build is available.

We are not looking to re-invent the wheel or duplicate effort.

Thanks - that'll do the trick.
