PDF Viewer - Open Site Warning Alert

Post by Don Schmidt »

When clicking on URLs and e-mail addresses a "PDF Viewer - Open Site Warning" alert appears. Can the alert be turned off? If so, how?

See attached gif for the Alert window.

Some URLs and e-mail addresses fail to respond when clicking on them; is this atributed to the version of PDF-XChange that created the document?

For security reasons, PDF-XChange viewer warns you when you try to open external link (including email). If you trust this URL, you can check "Remember my choice for this site" option and press Yes. After this viewer will not show alert message for this site. But it will for others.

As you know Don - security is an increasing issue for all these days and we cannot ignore it - we have to cater for it.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

I see your point. In time I'll have all my contacts processed through the "Alert" and the "concern" will be gone. I should have realized it; sorry for the nag.

I'm writing for the same thing. Just adding my +1, I guess.

I understand security concerns, but there could still be an option (in advanced prefs or whatever) to turn this off.

Many people don't like to be warned for every single step. Take UAC in Vista as an example... :)

Regards.

Just a bump.

Nobody uses links in PDFs?

I mean imagine if there were warnings inside your browser for every link you try to visit... it's very annoying frankly.
