Re: [suggestion] Add WebP to "Export PDF to Images"
Hello Jensen Head,
I believe we use a library for generating those image formats, and likely the WebP file format is not supported by it.
Also - we can not possibly support all image file formats, so if you need a specific one - I am certain there would be some tools that you can use to convert a lossless BMP or even a PNG to WebP quickly and probably also in batched.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: [suggestion] Add WebP to "Export PDF to Images"
Of course, I can export pages to a lossless format, and then convert it to the format I need. However, doesn't it seem strange to you that you support very exotic formats like PBM, PPM, WBMP and 7GA, and don't support one of the three main graphic formats on the web?
Also, if the same library is used for import, PDF-Tools and PDF-XChange Editor cannot create PDF documents with WebP illustrations. I'm right? Considering that it gives a gain of 1.5 to 2 times, don't you consider it important to have its support, especially in the case of preparing documents for the web?

Re: [suggestion] Add WebP to "Export PDF to Images"
Hi Jensen Head,
apparently opening webp is a lot easier than converting to it... We will look seriously into doing this however. I have raised a formal Feature Request around it and we'll have to see what comes.
As usual, the ticket is not open to the public, but the reference is RT#5951: Feature request :: support export/conversion to webp when looking for updates.
I hope that helps.

Re: [suggestion] Add WebP to "Export PDF to Images"
In the current version, export to "WebP - WebP images" is only available for "Choose type of multipage images", not for "Choose type of singlepage images". Weird. Is this the final solution to the issue?

Re: [suggestion] Add WebP to "Export PDF to Images" SOLVED
Actually, you can use WebP (or any other multi-paged format) even now.
You have to choose "Each image to a separate file" in the "Choose an action from the list" combo, check the box "Always use multipage format", and choose the format you like.
