Hello everyone, first post in here! I've been using XChange Editor for some time and I must say that I'm crazy for it and I want to learn more and more about it. Got plenty of questions but for now there's one in particular that is bugging me.
Is there a way to blur an image in a PDF? I don't want to simply cover it with a box, but I'd like to block the view in a more elegant way. Looked on the forum and on google but I couldn't find anything about this topic.
Also, is there a link where I can get an explanation regarding the difference between the normal and pro version of the purchased product?
Thank you in advance!

Hello Vanitas,
Welcome to our Forum.
There is one topic related to your question:
viewtopic.php?f=62&t=23287
As for the differences between the paid and the free versions of our products, there are none.
The only limitation you will see is the DEMO stamps added to your documents when a paid feature is used.
Regards.

Re: Blur an image?
Hi Vanitas,
Welcome to the Tracker Forums.
There was a discussion about this recently. viewtopic.php?f=62&t=23287
The short version is that there was resistance to this idea from the dev team because a "Blur" can, in theory, be reverse engineered. It is not true redaction if the content is recoverable. After some discussion, we agreed to make something, with the caveat that the blur is NOT true redaction.
RT#5972: Feature request :: Editor :: Blur text option for the redact tool.
I do not at this juncture have an ETA for delivery of this feature however.
I hope that helps.

Re: Blur an image?
Thank you both for the reply!
Regarding the versions of XChange Editor I was referring to the differences between these two options. Thank you again!

Re: Blur an image?
Hello Vanitas,
PDF-XChange Editor and PDF-XChange Editor Plus run in the same base application and offer many of the same features for general use. A "PDF-XChange Editor" license enables the use of almost all features in the program. The additional features that a "PDF-XChange Editor Plus" license includes are the use of the Enhanced OCR (optical character recognition) engine and the creation/editing of fillable forms and dynamic stamps.
Kind regards,
Stefan
